Something spooky is coming to Chasewater Railway this Halloween…
The haunted train is returning this year as the Phantom Flyer for two frightful evenings of steam, scares and Halloween mayhem!
Alongside the Phantom Flyer, brave visitors can test their nerves in the terrifying Scare Maze, while those who love a spooky tale can gather around for chilling ghost stories guaranteed to send shivers down your spine!
And for younger visitors, there’s a brand new daytime experience – Mini Monster Mash – filled with family friendly Halloween fun, games and spooky surprises.
Mini Monster Mash
The Halloween fun begins early on Friday with the Mini Monster Mash.
A fun daytime experience to start Halloween early on Friday 30th October (from 12:00pm to 4:00pm), for a fang-tastic afternoon packed with tricks, treats, games, crafts and plenty of Halloween fun for little monsters and their grown-ups.
Visit the carriages of the Trick or Treat Train for some sweet surprises, then dance the afternoon away at the Spooky Dance Party and settle in for some spooky stories!
Go dressed to impress for the Halloween Costume Competition and show off your most creative, creepy or cute costume and join in the Halloween fun!
There’ll be loads of fun games & activities to enjoy, including:

- Pumpkin Crafts
- Halloween Face Painting
So grab your little ghosts, witches, monsters and pumpkins, put on your best Halloween costume and enjoy a Mini Monster Mash full of spooky surprises, giggles and Halloween magic!
Terror Train – The Phantom Flyer Scare Train
As darkness falls, Chasewater Railway takes on a very different atmosphere…
From 5:30pm on Friday 30th October, the Phantom Flyer takes to the rails, bringing Halloween to life with an eerie evening of railway travel.
Step aboard the heritage steam train as it is transformed into the terrifying Phantom Flyer for Halloween. With spooky surprises waiting for brave passengers along the route, keep your eyes peeled as you journey into the darkness. You never know who or what, might be lurking along the line!
The Phantom Flyer will run throughout the evening on Friday and continue on Saturday 31st October, with trains running until 9:00pm.
