Wednesbury is a market town in the Sandwell district, in the county of the West Midlands, England; it was historically in Staffordshire.

It is located near the source of the River Tame and is part of the Black Country.

Wednesbury traces its name to “Woden’s borough” , named after the Anglo-Saxon god Woden
