The popular annual event will take place on Saturday, November 7

Families can look forward to an evening of fireworks, live music and fairground fun when Walsall’s Fireworks Spectacular returns to the Arboretum in November.

The popular annual event will take place on Saturday, November 7, with gates opening at 5pm ahead of an evening of entertainment culminating in a fireworks display at 7.30pm.

Black Country presenter Dicky Dodd will host the event, which will feature live music from Slady, an all-female tribute to legendary rock band Slade.

The group will headline the evening’s entertainment, taking to the main stage from 6.45pm to 7.25pm.

They will be joined by rising local artist Nayra J, whose music celebrates his Walsall roots, with live stage entertainment getting underway from 5.30pm.

The fireworks display, produced by UK Fireworks, will light up the skies above the Arboretum at 7.30pm.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy a traditional fairground, with rides opening from 5pm and continuing until 9pm, alongside a range of food and drink stalls.

Councillor Matt Eason, Walsall Council’s portfolio holder for culture, health and wellbeing, said: “Our Fireworks Spectacular is always a fantastic opportunity for families and communities to come together and enjoy an evening of entertainment right here in Walsall.

“This year we’re making the event about much more than the fireworks, with a great programme of live entertainment, including Slady as our headline act, as well as fairground rides and a wide choice of food and drink.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming residents from across the borough. As this is an advance ticket-only event, I’d encourage anyone planning to come along to book their tickets early.”

Tickets cost £9.50 for adults aged 16 and over and £7.50 for children aged four to 15, while admission for children under three costs £1.

Family tickets are available for £28, admitting either two adults and two children or one adult and three children.

Every person attending must have a valid ticket, including children under three, while all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over.

The council said the £1 ticket for under-threes would help organisers manage the event’s capacity and ensure a safe experience for visitors.

Tickets must be purchased in advance, with none available to buy on the night.
